This 12 year old girl would steal all of our hearts one day by taking on not one but two roles in her first feature film; the only movie she would ever have to audition for, and where she would perfect an English accent. If you guessed Lindsay Lohan in the remake of ‘The Parent Trap’ then you guessed right!
That little sweet freckled face girl lighting up our screens as both Halle and Annie was a pivotal pop culture moment for all of us millennials… ‘That girl is without a doubt, the lowest, most awful creature to ever walk the planet!’
But soon enough we’d watch that 12 year old turn 14, and then 17, and take on other roles from Freaky Friday to Mean girls…and although one could argue we adored her just as much as we did when she was playing double the trouble…the public scrutiny of young celebrity women, tabloid cover era, and Perez Hilton mean-culture was on the rise in the early 2000s, and so was the reputation of many of our favorite teenyboppers.
If we rolled the dice it was clear that Lindsay Lohan’s public image would take a hit…a major hit. She would go from once beloved Disney star to the face of the messy party girl. From stumbling out of nightclubs, seeming disheveled, being arrested for a DUI, than violating probation, it seemed like there was no one there to catch Lindsay as her public persona had majorly overtaken the hard work she had put into her acting career.
Of course there were the many rumors of substance abuse and quick escapes from rehab. Let’s just say 2008-2013 we watched our favorite red head, go blonde, go wild, and hang out with the likes of Britney and Paris. All 3 ladies were dubbed the ‘Holy Trinity’ when they were snapped leaving a club together one night. It was an epic photo, but it also captured the struggle of growing up as a young female celebrity in front of the paps in the early to mid-2000s.
Lindsay made one of the best decisions she could in 2014. She played her cards right by moving to Dubai for a more private life. She continued acting overseas, but better yet she took time away for herself to heal. Than eventually she found love and motherhood!
Life, however, is a journey with bumps, escapes, wins, losses, but most of all there are ALWAYS comebacks! If 2024 Lindsay hasn’t hit your algorithm, then you are missing out! Lindsay Lohan has made (and will continue to make) an epic splash! She has put in the work. Not only with her career, but taking time for herself to heal, and grow, and become someone outside of what the public wanted her to be.
For the last couple of years, we’ve seen Lindsay pop up on Netflix! Her career hit the jackpot with her that deal! From ‘Falling For Christmas’ to ‘Irish Wish’ and now my personal favorite ‘Our Little Secret’…I’ve never seen this woman look so amazing and happy!
The press interviews for ‘Our Little Secret’ has given us the dose of Lindsay we’ve all been waiting for. I don’t know what Lindsays secret is, but I will continue to watch every interview and movie she’s in so I can find out how to get that perfect glow and that unmatched happy energy. 2024 Lindsay Lohan is an enigma. We are here for it! The rise, the fall, but the epic rise again!
We shouldn’t have expected anything less from Lindsay! Let’s not forget, this was a 12-year-old girl who during the premiere of her first movie was asked by a head executive at Disney ‘where is your twin sister?’…she responded ‘I don’t have one, you should have paid me double!’ Hats off to Lindsay!
